Our Team

Binta and Luke Ellerman have long held a passion for gardening. Even during their frequent travels for work, they maintained a garden every summer, nurturing their love for growing plants. Upon returning to Luke’s hometown of Quincy, IL, they expanded their efforts into a larger garden primarily focused on vegetables. Yet, what began as a modest endeavor to cultivate flowers in their front yard soon flourished into a thriving farm. Today, Sweet Land Farm stands as a testament to their dedication a place where locally grown flowers come together, cultivated with beauty, hard work, and heartfelt commitment.

Binta

Binta is the heartbeat behind all the beautiful flowers blooming at Sweet Land Farm. Growing up in Senegal, she witnessed firsthand her father's deep commitment to agriculture—a passion that has become less common among the younger generation today. Inspired by her father's dedication, Binta embraced farming early on, learning the essentials that would later flourish in her own expansive garden. Her expertise and care have made Sweet Land Farm a vibrant showcase of locally grown flowers, reflecting both her heritage and professional skill.
